So if you're set to 16 Ohms and you plug into both, they're 8 Ohms. If you plug cabinets into both outputs at the same time, then their impedance is halved. If you select 16 Ohms then they are both 16 Ohms. If you have the output impedance selector set to 8 Ohms (as you currently do), then if you plug your cab into either jack it will be at 8 Ohms. Regarding the two speaker outs, they're both the same. Nevertheless, if it's set to 8 Ohms you can use a 16 Ohm cabinet with it. The really old ones are actually a 'U' shaped connector that you had to physically pull out of the plug (the 'selector') and then push back in the new position Yours doesn't look like either of those. As rocknhorse1 said, the horseshoe is the symbol for Ohms (it's an Omega from the ancient Greek alphabet). ![]() So don't muck around inside the chassis unless you know what you're doing. ![]() There are components in there that act like huge high voltage batteries, and they're connected to all the interesting parts. There are voltages in there that can kill you even when the amp is switched off and un-plugged. Don't touch anything inside the amp if you're going to look at wire colours.
